The following case studies were carried out under carefully controlled environments to prove the energy saving capabilities of Mobil Industrial Lubricants.
Introducing the new standard in lubricants for hydraulic systems.
Driven by the harsh lubrication demands of today’s new machinery, the makers of
Mobil Industrial Lubricants have formulated the revolutionary Mobil DTE 10 Excel Series.
ExxonMobil's range of Mobilcut water soluble metalworking fluids are helping the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula 1 cars gain a competitive edge on the track.
The new Mobilcut series, alongside proven products such as Mobilmet neat cutting oils, Mobil DTE hydraulic oils and Mobil Vactra slideway oils, are in use at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, allowing the team to build new component designs and machine new metals and compounds.
Cannington Bio Energy report how Mobil Pegasus 610 exceeded their expectations through reduced maintenance and running costs.
Mobil Pegasus 610 is providing excellent service in 4 MAN V12. Gas engines at one of this country’s most innovative and fast growing Companies.
Cannington Bio Energy operate from originally a farm site close to the market town of Bridgewater. They specialise in anaerobic digestion, the process of turning organic material into a renewable energy source.
Mobil SHC Polyrex 462 saves €40,000 per year in sugar mill.
Operating in high temperature conditions with low lifetime of parts, Mobil SHC Polyrex 462 grease is introduces to improve efficiency and lifetime of plates, drums and rotors by nearly 6 years.
Savings of approximately €40,000 per year are achieved through reduction of overall grease consumption.
Savings of €100,000 in electric motors with Mobilith SHC grease.
At a paper company in Germany, motors were for years lubricated using grease compliant with DIN KP2N-20. The result was oil ingress into the winding space due to excessive oil deposits.
Results included no bearing damage, no oil-stained windings and a reduction in maintenance cost by approximately €100,000 a year.
A construction company in Egypt who use Mobilgrease XMP 222 in their machinery and equipment have saved $82,000 over two years and increased the bearing life in all their applications.
By using Mobilgrease XMP 222, re-greasing intervals were doubled, bearing life time increased significantly, increased oxidation was achieved, corrosion and thermal resistance and excellent EP and anti-wear performance.
Lubrication of Linear Guides, Vertical Shafts, racks and pinions with
vogel-SKF central lubrication system - grease Mobilux EP 004, operating
speed 5 m/sec, position tolerances 0.05 mm.
Use of Mobilth SHC 007 in the central lubricating system -adjustment of
lubrication intervals - lubrication quantity per linear guide cycle 0.03 cm,
rack 0.06 cm.
Temperatures in the conveyor bearings decreased from 5 degrees C to 10 degrees C, increasing bearings' lifetime.

New Mobil SHC 632, energy efficient, synthetic gearbox oil increases efficiency of Smurfit Kappa gearbox operation by 6.5%. Corresponding operating temperature drop of 8.4oC observed with new synthetic lubricant.
Mobil Industrial Lubricants and Smurfit Kappa have a shared vision to improve the energy and environmental efficiencies of their operations. This shared ideology makes for a successful working partnership, in which we have sought mutually beneficial solutions to the challenges presented in the search for effective lubrication.
Energy efficiency benefits of Mobil SHC 600 help to support Smurfit kappa's sustainability objectives by reducing equipment operating temperatures.
Smurfit Kappa, a leading producer of paper-based packaging, has
reported a gearbox energy efficiency saving of approximately 6.5%
following a field trial using the new Mobil SHC 600 series. These high
performance synthetic gear circulating and gear oils have been engineered to help pulp & paper companies increase productivity.
Häfner & Krullmann extend oil drain intervals from 40,000 to around 50 to 60,000 operating hours and make an energy saving of 2-3% by switching to Mobil DTE 10 Excel.
Häfner & Krullmann, a company based in Leopoldshöhe, Germany, specialises in processing plastics and currently has 52 injection moulding machines, varying in size from 50 to 2,000 tonnes.
The company is one of Europe‟s largest manufacturers of plastic spools ranging from special spools for the silver stripes used in hundred euro notes, to spools produced under clean room conditions for medical applications.
The company has realised the importance of hydraulic oils in maximising the productivity of its equipment for a number of years and was keen to see what performance benefits could be realised through the introduction of Mobil DTE 10 Excel.
Following a successful test phase involving two machines, the company decided to convert additional machines to Mobil DTE 10 Excel. Since then, five of the company‟s installations have been filled with the product and for the other machines it has been used for topping up.
Following the introduction and initial monitoring of Mobil DTE 10 Excel, Häfner & Krullmann expect to extend oil drain intervals from 40,000 to around 50 to 60,000 operating hours and make an energy saving of two three percent. The company also expects to double filter life which in itself will deliver significant cost savings.
